Auckland Law School

Study at New Zealand’s top-ranked Law School in the heart of Auckland’s legal precinct

In the most recent QS rankings, we placed 59th in the world — and to put that in perspective, that’s out of over 1,500 law schools globally. It’s a reminder of the quality of education and opportunities available here — and the kind of legal community our students are part of.

Faculty highlights

No.1 Law School in New Zealand

The Auckland Law School is ranked 59th by Subject in the QS University World Rankings, testifying to its high quality of teaching, learning and research, alongside some of the best in the world. We are also home to the Davis Law Library, New Zealand's most extensive collection of legal resources.

Postgraduate programmes

We have a range of postgraduate qualifications to take your career to the next level. We have postgraduate courses that are designed for both law and non-law graduates that will give you the knowledge and skills to further your career, no matter which field you come from.

Juris Doctor

An exciting new programme for non-law graduates is coming in 2027. This three year postgraduate degree in law will offer students who have completed an undergraduate degree outside of law to pursue a legal career.
