Study locally, graduate globally
Your fast track to earning two globally recognised qualifications, without the need to complete two separate degrees.
Transnational education
Your fast track to earning two globally recognised qualifications, without the need to complete two separate degrees.
We are excited to be working on a range of transnational education (TNE) partnerships with universities around the world. Most of these partnerships involve formal credit transfer agreements, which allow students who meet certain academic standards to have their study credits recognised and transferred into specific programmes at the University of Auckland.
You'll have access to world-class education, awarded educators and a global learning experience, all starting in your home country. Transnational education is a new way to study that allows you to stay connected to your home country while learning with the University of Auckland.
What is transnational education?
Transnational education, or TNE, is a flexible way to earn two qualifications in less time, with all the benefits of an international education. It allows you to complete part of your studies with one of our partner universities near you, and part of your studies with the University of Auckland – while earning a qualification from both.
The benefits of transnational education
Earn dual qualifications
By completing study through the pathway designed for our TNE students, you can earn two internationally recognised qualifications from two top institutions.
Complete your studies sooner
Credit agreements between institutions allow you to complete two qualifications in around half the time you would normally expect if you were studying them separately.
Start building your global network
Connect with students and staff from around the world, either online or on campus if you finish your degree with us in Auckland.
Save on international student costs
By starting your degree in your home country, you can save on living costs abroad.
Stay connected to home
You can start learning with a top global university without leaving your home country straight away.
Study with the flexibility you need
There are options to study in your home country and then transfer to Auckland.
How does transnational education work?
In a TNE programme, you might begin your studies at your home university and then transfer to the University of Auckland to finish your degree.
Our special credit agreements with leading universities and institutions across the world mean the courses you complete at either institution are recognised by both.
This means you can easily build on what you've done when you move between institutions, fast-tracking your studies and earning two qualifications – one from your home institution and one from the University of Auckland.
